Leaflet company: in a modern world
Any company these days, including a leaflet company, has a tough job of keeping abreast of all the challenges that today’s world throws at it.  Leaflet company, Leaflets and Leaflet Distrribution: nuisance or lifeline?.jpgSurvival itself can be a difficult task in these still uncertain economic climes.  Tightly managing budgets, keeping costs in check and ensuring income is well planned and diverse enough to give company safety yet not so diverse that clients are unsure of your specialism and your identity, are full time strategic and managing jobs. Ensuring that you stay alongside of, and even slightly ahead of, changing trends and needs is another major challenge. Keeping staff trained and up to date skills-wise and knowledge-wise and making sure that equipment can cope with new demands so that it can embrace every new technological change is paramount to being a fully competitive and dynamic company.  The modern world is a hectic and furiously paced environment for marketing companies and All Homes, as a leaflet company, is always braced to compete well.

Design for extraterrestrials

Design for extraterrestrials
Here at All Homes we often wonder if there is design anywhere else in the universe!  leaflet distribution design.pngThere seems at least distant visual evidence of a design consciousness somewhere out there in outer space – whether it be God or an unconscious organic presence rhythmically painting the universe with lights and colour. We are looking at forms of design that do not depend on earthly principles learned in college. Those which are carved into the lunar landscape by lunatic fingers of beings we do not know and yet visible in our night sky, or those created by the lights of Orion’s belt in the midst of the northern reaches throwing powerful flashes from Alnitak, to Alnilam to Mintaka and back again. Ghostly design can be found in the Cygnus constellation with its luminous blue and yellow glows and fluorescent tail spins; or in our own solar system in the Venutian flames or amongst the shimmering and shining discs encircling Saturn.

Printing: a respectable profession

Printing: a respectable profession

The early days of printing conjure up images of bespectacled and earnest men in black jackets and breeches – those belonging to Charles Dickens era. leaflet design leaflet print.jpg Scholarly gentlemen of poor means who had entered the world of letters could become printers without shame and be a member of one of the oldest guilds formed. Printing was considered to be something approaching a craft, something which enabled literacy and which linked the world of commerce and the world of landed gentry and carried with it a cloak of respectability.  Printing merged many worlds unintentionally: the lower classes to the higher echelons of society, foreign countries to our own nation, youth and the aged and many others. Printing in fact served the world in much the way that the telecommunications medium does now; it enabled the world to become a less superstitious and fearsome place, and to break the social, cultural and morally rigid barriers across our world.

Door to door: a changing technique

Door to door:  a changing technique

Door bells used to chime and years ago, if they sounded in the day time, it was quite likely that they heralded the visit of a door to door salesman. door to door.jpgThe neighbourhood would have differing views on door to door salesmen, as we recall, and there were many reason for this.
Firstly what they were selling could indicate what the local attitude would be to these men.  Shoe polish was one such product sold on the door step or if they were lucky sitting on the sofa having a nice cup of tea and a chat. Tins of shoe polish with a brush to apply and work in the polish, a brush to shine and a duster to buff the shoes formed a little pack that was very popular with the generation who cleaned their shoes every day. This was an accepted door to door sales product – helpful to householders, just as brushes, brooms, mops and dusters, vacuum cleaners and all the.

Leaflet for leaflet’s sake!

A leaflet by any other name does its job just as well.  leaflet distribution.jpgA leaflet has an uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time, providing news, imparting knowledge, giving information and detail and otherwise delivering its message. A leaflet has a million uses and whatever shape and size, it is usually fit for purpose and obligingly helpful.

Leaflets and printing through the ages

Life must have been simple for caveman; passing the time of day doodling on the cave wall with juice from berries.  Little did he know that he was primitive marketing man depicting his world on his “canvas”. Leaflet design for leaflet distribution.jpgHe is ancestor to artists, copy writers, journalists and publicists. His daily meanderings on the wall have told us so many useful things. Had he ever known how important his work was, he would have scratched his woolly head in wonder.

Leaflet distribution for the future

What will leaflets look like and how will leaflet distribution be carried out in the future. Goodness only knows. Trying to envisage the future is like stepping into the unknown; we have no idea what each day will bring, let alone each month, year or decade ahead. Leaflet company, Leaflets and Leaflet Distrribution: nuisance or lifeline?.jpgHowever sometimes at All Homes we try and take a giant step and look very far ahead into the future just to try and see what the future holds for leaflet distribution techniques.

Leaflets:and Flyer's good marketing practice

What is good marketing practice? Nobody is very sure! We suppose that to know the answer to that it’s necessary to know what bad marketing practice is.  Leaflets and leaflet distribution: a political technique!.gifThere is marketing for its own sake, beautiful imagery used on websites, posters, billboards, leaflets and adverts and very clever trendy, cool scripts and tableaus acted out on TV selling ..............goodness knows what! There are great ads that sell tea but not the specific brand they are advertising. It all sounds a jamboree of too much money sloshing around, too many ideas bounding around and not sufficient tactical knowledge applied. Not bad marketing strictly speaking, but probably mis-targeted and undirected marketing – too much creative and not enough plan!

Leaflet Print and Leaflet design: essentials for leaflets

Leaflet print and design go hand in hand; they belong together if you like, out of necessity rather than choice. leaflet design leaflet print.jpg This stands to reason because, unless you actually want to distribute printed sheets of paper, straight from your computer, around the neighbourhood - which would not be the greatest advertisement for your services, you will have to create leaflets that deliver your message with, at least, a little style. So, you have to acknowledge that good leaflets need design or there is almost no point to a leaflet.
This hand in hand nature of the print and design of good marketing leaflets stands about as close to other examples of one needing the other as is feasibly possible.  Like sand needing water to make cement, like seeds needing water to grow, like eggs needing bacon, like Jack and Jill, if one is without the other it either doesn’t work well or it doesn’t work at all!
