Leaflet company: in a modern world
Any company these days, including a leaflet company, has a tough job of keeping abreast of all the challenges that today’s world throws at it.  Leaflet company, Leaflets and Leaflet Distrribution: nuisance or lifeline?.jpgSurvival itself can be a difficult task in these still uncertain economic climes.  Tightly managing budgets, keeping costs in check and ensuring income is well planned and diverse enough to give company safety yet not so diverse that clients are unsure of your specialism and your identity, are full time strategic and managing jobs. Ensuring that you stay alongside of, and even slightly ahead of, changing trends and needs is another major challenge. Keeping staff trained and up to date skills-wise and knowledge-wise and making sure that equipment can cope with new demands so that it can embrace every new technological change is paramount to being a fully competitive and dynamic company.  The modern world is a hectic and furiously paced environment for marketing companies and All Homes, as a leaflet company, is always braced to compete well.

Design for extraterrestrials

Design for extraterrestrials
Here at All Homes we often wonder if there is design anywhere else in the universe!  leaflet distribution design.pngThere seems at least distant visual evidence of a design consciousness somewhere out there in outer space – whether it be God or an unconscious organic presence rhythmically painting the universe with lights and colour. We are looking at forms of design that do not depend on earthly principles learned in college. Those which are carved into the lunar landscape by lunatic fingers of beings we do not know and yet visible in our night sky, or those created by the lights of Orion’s belt in the midst of the northern reaches throwing powerful flashes from Alnitak, to Alnilam to Mintaka and back again. Ghostly design can be found in the Cygnus constellation with its luminous blue and yellow glows and fluorescent tail spins; or in our own solar system in the Venutian flames or amongst the shimmering and shining discs encircling Saturn.

Printing: a respectable profession

Printing: a respectable profession

The early days of printing conjure up images of bespectacled and earnest men in black jackets and breeches – those belonging to Charles Dickens era. leaflet design leaflet print.jpg Scholarly gentlemen of poor means who had entered the world of letters could become printers without shame and be a member of one of the oldest guilds formed. Printing was considered to be something approaching a craft, something which enabled literacy and which linked the world of commerce and the world of landed gentry and carried with it a cloak of respectability.  Printing merged many worlds unintentionally: the lower classes to the higher echelons of society, foreign countries to our own nation, youth and the aged and many others. Printing in fact served the world in much the way that the telecommunications medium does now; it enabled the world to become a less superstitious and fearsome place, and to break the social, cultural and morally rigid barriers across our world.

Door to door:  a changing technique

Door bells used to chime and years ago, if they sounded in the day time, it was quite likely that they heralded the visit of a door to door salesman. door to door.jpgThe neighbourhood would have differing views on door to door salesmen, as we recall, and there were many reason for this.
Firstly what they were selling could indicate what the local attitude would be to these men.  Shoe polish was one such product sold on the door step or if they were lucky sitting on the sofa having a nice cup of tea and a chat. Tins of shoe polish with a brush to apply and work in the polish, a brush to shine and a duster to buff the shoes formed a little pack that was very popular with the generation who cleaned their shoes every day. This was an accepted door to door sales product – helpful to householders, just as brushes, brooms, mops and dusters, vacuum cleaners and all the.

Leaflet for leaflet’s sake!

A leaflet by any other name does its job just as well.  leaflet distribution.jpgA leaflet has an uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time, providing news, imparting knowledge, giving information and detail and otherwise delivering its message. A leaflet has a million uses and whatever shape and size, it is usually fit for purpose and obligingly helpful.

Leaflets and printing through the ages

Life must have been simple for caveman; passing the time of day doodling on the cave wall with juice from berries.  Little did he know that he was primitive marketing man depicting his world on his “canvas”. Leaflet design for leaflet distribution.jpgHe is ancestor to artists, copy writers, journalists and publicists. His daily meanderings on the wall have told us so many useful things. Had he ever known how important his work was, he would have scratched his woolly head in wonder.

Leaflet distribution for the future

What will leaflets look like and how will leaflet distribution be carried out in the future. Goodness only knows. Trying to envisage the future is like stepping into the unknown; we have no idea what each day will bring, let alone each month, year or decade ahead. Leaflet company, Leaflets and Leaflet Distrribution: nuisance or lifeline?.jpgHowever sometimes at All Homes we try and take a giant step and look very far ahead into the future just to try and see what the future holds for leaflet distribution techniques.

Leaflets:and Flyer's good marketing practice

What is good marketing practice? Nobody is very sure! We suppose that to know the answer to that it’s necessary to know what bad marketing practice is.  Leaflets and leaflet distribution: a political technique!.gifThere is marketing for its own sake, beautiful imagery used on websites, posters, billboards, leaflets and adverts and very clever trendy, cool scripts and tableaus acted out on TV selling ..............goodness knows what! There are great ads that sell tea but not the specific brand they are advertising. It all sounds a jamboree of too much money sloshing around, too many ideas bounding around and not sufficient tactical knowledge applied. Not bad marketing strictly speaking, but probably mis-targeted and undirected marketing – too much creative and not enough plan!

Leaflet Print and Leaflet design: essentials for leaflets

Leaflet print and design go hand in hand; they belong together if you like, out of necessity rather than choice. leaflet design leaflet print.jpg This stands to reason because, unless you actually want to distribute printed sheets of paper, straight from your computer, around the neighbourhood - which would not be the greatest advertisement for your services, you will have to create leaflets that deliver your message with, at least, a little style. So, you have to acknowledge that good leaflets need design or there is almost no point to a leaflet.
This hand in hand nature of the print and design of good marketing leaflets stands about as close to other examples of one needing the other as is feasibly possible.  Like sand needing water to make cement, like seeds needing water to grow, like eggs needing bacon, like Jack and Jill, if one is without the other it either doesn’t work well or it doesn’t work at all!

Good leaflet design speaks for itself

Not just good leaflet design, in fact good design speaks for itself, full stop.

Architectural design is a case in point. In Barcelona, La Sagrada Familia is more than a beautiful cathedral. Gaudi was trying to reach God through the design of buildings and this most famous of his constructions is his way of doing this. Leaflet design for leaflet distribution.jpg Le Sacre Coeur in France and Sir Christopher Wren’s design for St Pauls Cathedral in London are more examples of beautiful holy buildings – all making a greater statement through design. The famous Spire of Dublin, or Monument of Light, could not be a more effective design; now understood to be one of the most prestigious stainless steel constructions in the world supposedly bridging art and technology.

QR codes on leaflets the way to go: as fast as lightning

As fast as lightning is not the usual phrase to describe a marketing technique, but the world is changing fast and the world of marketing is no exception.  QR codes used on leaflets are in line with progress in a modern world and we too can make use of technology to help perfect techniques and achieve greater success, just as other sectors have.

Leaflets and Leaflet Distribution for local and national business.

“Local born and bred and proud of it!” Quite a saying, and it’s great to have roots, especially those that define you and that you carry on your sleeve with pride. But many grumpy old men and women use that phrase when they are unwilling to look beyond their boundaries; those around them often see such pride forms a barrier to healthier development precisely through refusing to move away from their small narrow outlook.  This can happen in the world of marketing and especially in the world of leaflet Distribution.

Leaflet Design for best distribution results

For those concerned with the precise time when they should start considering the design of their upcoming leaflet distribution, first discuss all the messages you want to put across to your target audience.  Taking the time to prepare a brief for your designer is a good idea, as it helps you print and design for leaflet distribution.jpgclarify what your own needs are.  Once we see our own brief in front of our eyes, we can then become our own critic.  It is time to study what the signals are that we want to transmit through our leaflets. Leaflet design should properly support the message you want your leaflet to carry and deal with any conflicting ideas there may be.

Leaflets and leaflet distribution: a political technique!

Every man values his right to speak and be heard. Every woman too, as it happens! Leaflets and leaflet distribution are just one small vehicle in the great ocean of means to exert this right. Leaflets and leaflet distribution: a political technique!.gifIn fact, to speak, to broadcast and to publish are the political freedoms that stand up and shout that we are free.  Of course it is always a much more glamorous freedom if what we say is said from our conscience and carries great weight amongst our peers. Sadly it is often the utmost rubbish that speaks the loudest; however, such is our value of these freedoms that we would stand in defence of our fundamental right to speak the rubbish of our choosing!  Having your supporters give out leaflets while you stand on your soap box and announce that the world will end or that the government should spend all your tax money on champagne for pensioners is a rudimentary human right!

Leaflet company, Leaflets and Leaflet Distrribution: nuisance or lifeline?

Leaflets door to door just might be the most annoying door-drop of all time or the greatest life saver!  Any householder finding 6 different Chinese take way leaflets pushed through the letterbox, or the barely thought out arguments on the local council’s latest rules on dog poo collecting, might be forgiven for jettisoning the lot.Leaflet company, Leaflets and Leaflet Distrribution: nuisance or lifeline?.jpg However, finding the local chiropractor’s details when you have hurt your neck in the gym or the local door and window specialist’s latest discounts just as you need to replace the kitchen window is a different kettle of fish.  Advertising and leaflets are basically medicine or poison depending on the householders’ circumstances.   It pays to think about leaflet distribution before you design the leaflets.  It also pays to take good professional advice on who gets your leaflets, there is no point in annoying lots of people who might never need your services. Good targeting is the key to successful take-up of your services and to avoid hundreds of irritated householders.

Design and print: a better advertisement for your services

As Jai McDowall takes first place in Britain’s Got Talent, and the hot favourites have to take print and design for leaflet distribution.jpgsecond, third and fourth place, we marvel at how the most quiet, unassuming and unnoticed can suddenly flare and flame into the limelight and overtake those presumed most likely to steal first prize. On the other foot, when brilliance is displayed at first audition and then fades from notice, we give a nod of acknowledgement and move on.

The quiet intense Scottish singer stole the show when he achieved more viewers’ votes than any other act on the addictive reality show; although this should not be a surprise when one really thinks about it. A strong, enduring and convincing voice that does not waver or fall out of tune and builds towards its climax holds everyone in its thrall. These qualities are a great advertisement for the singer who has a career guaranteed.  It really is no different in other walks of life.

leaflet_distribution_and_leaflets.jpg

Waking up in the morning, scratching one’s head, yawning and going to the front door to pick up the post was a traditional routine that started the day for millions.  Reading the paper, and opening the bills, Christmas cards, Easter cards and letters, from family members dotted around the world, were rituals, at breakfast time, that became culturally ingrained, and it would take a lot to turn us away from these customs of – not just our life time but the lifetimes of generations of our ancestors.  Changing postal services these days, often late morning, often mid afternoon delivery, took this away. However, how mail and other things arrive in every home hasn’t. That everything is posted through the letterbox has not changed! This means letters, bills, and of course leaflets.

Getting your head around the latest developments in the science and technology sector may drive you crazy!  Understanding exactly the latest computer techtonics, or digital developments, may make you wring your hands! If that is the case then understanding how a new piece of wonder-technology, used by the military and by artists alike, can sit on a leaflet and assist a marketing campaign will leave you completely bewildered.

QR codes, one of the latest technological progressions to enter the information sector, can be a means of getting information about your company seen quickly with a more instant means of subscribing to your services, buying your products, or signing-up to your cause.

advertise_or_die.jpg

Advertise or die! A maxim if ever I heard one. Unlike other maxims such as the centuries old advice for travellers “See Naples and die”, or the old wives idiom “kill or cure”, or even the old faithful for fibbers “If I am lying, god strike me dead!” the final extreme within the phrase may not actually be a fairy tale! For the business and corporate sector
