Leaflet Print and Leaflet design: essentials for leaflets

Leaflet print and design go hand in hand; they belong together if you like, out of necessity rather than choice. leaflet design leaflet print.jpg This stands to reason because, unless you actually want to distribute printed sheets of paper, straight from your computer, around the neighbourhood - which would not be the greatest advertisement for your services, you will have to create leaflets that deliver your message with, at least, a little style. So, you have to acknowledge that good leaflets need design or there is almost no point to a leaflet.
This hand in hand nature of the print and design of good marketing leaflets stands about as close to other examples of one needing the other as is feasibly possible.  Like sand needing water to make cement, like seeds needing water to grow, like eggs needing bacon, like Jack and Jill, if one is without the other it either doesn’t work well or it doesn’t work at all!

There is usually no debate about the need for printing services; the difficulty in the equation is design itself. Either overused to create design for its own sake or underused to the extent that good messages are missed through lack of understanding, the design in leaflet print and design has not been given a fair hearing. Design is not just a few words arranged on a piece of paper with a couple of illustrations; design is the means by which we add emphasis, give meaning to words, make attractive leaflets to read and draw in those who we target for our services.  It is something that we use to shape the information we need to transmit and give it coherence and impact. It makes the whole much better!

Imagine being a portrait photographer and wanting to keep your business in the minds of local people so they hire you for their family portraits.  Well, is it likely you will want to use examples of your photographs just to show that you do what you say you do; however at the same time those very photographs could be just as easily used to illustrate what you are saying in your leaflets through careful positioning, using different styles of portrait, or colour to black and white, or indoor and outdoor settings, to really give a feeling of the full breadth of your services.  The same can be said for using bright multi-colours for pizza take away leaflets to show diversity and choice, or fun crazy bold designs for children’s playgroup leaflets, serious illustration for health services and so on.  Leaflet print and design will make your words go that much further when combined to make a whole argument in your favour.
